How many gigs for Vista bootcamp partition?

I'll probably just need 5 gigs for applications, what's the bare minimum requirement of Vista partition size?

Cheers. Do you know anything about Vista crashing during installation if it sees 4GB of RAM in the system?

It won't crash, it will just use 2 GB. You can verify this by:

Control Panel | System

It will report only 2 GB RAM...

P.S. Do you think 15GB is optimal for Vista partition size, and once I install it are there ways to reduce the OS files size etc.?

id say min 20gb.... need room for OS install + programs + VM + just incase something else comes up..

It's a limitation of a 32-bit OS. To use more memory in Windows, you'll need to use a 64-bit version.

Actually, vista will recognize something like 3 to 3.5 GB - just not the total 4. On windows machines at least (I haven't tried this on boot camp) vista 32 bit is good for at least 3 GB.
