This is just for yourself

I guess this would be of models too.. for example-

I have 7+ X and SE.

Technically two of the SE (got one in gold when it came out for $499, and a clearance one in space grey on iOS 11 on top of of 10 on other... bc of rock bottom clearance pricing from ATT prepaid stock)

7+ was half paid for with 6s+ on contract I sold at launch, and my X is a contract phone

So the damage isnt as bad financially as it seems

Just dont wanna sell any :p the SE’s aren’t worth the little resell, and 7+ i just dont wanna forego cause that haptic 2nd gen touchID thats never returning and all matte black look and X is obviously bae

For the longest time I only ever owned one iPhone at a time, but its somehow gotten out of control in recent years haha

I use them all too believe it or not, even if just as iPod touches around the house / while my primary phone is charging, etc.

I have:

SE 64GB
SE 128GB
7+
8+

I won't sell the SEs because I have them jailbroken on 11.1.2. I use the 7+ and 8+ on two of my three T-Mobile lines.

I have more iPhones too and many Android phones as well but those belong in another post.

Just the 7 plus, I personally don't see the need of having more than one phone at a time. Just my preference.
Just responding to the "don't see a need" part here as I have no phones in this category.

I have three phones and an iPad. For that matter I have five (soon to be six) Macs and a PC at home with two Macs at work and three at work that need fixing.

I don't "need" all of that. I could get by with one phone and one Mac. And I think for a lot of people who own multiple devices (computers, phones, etc) the same could be said. In your case it's preference and all you "need".

I think people want more than one device and create a "need" to justify having that second (or third, or more) device. I plead guilty to that.

I don't need all these devices and computers…but I want them. So, need has nothing to do with why I have multiples.

Lots of people justify what they buy/get based on need. That's a preference and we all are different. I'm just chiming in for the other side. I buy or get based on what I want (and how much of it) and if it happens to meet a need of mine then that's gravy.

Solid points, I mean I have a drawer full of gadgets, chargers and assorted that I no longer use.

I could say the same for apps, quite a few I don't use. Especially games.

I just have so many phones because I have three lines on T-Mobile for $100. I started with one line that was about $80 several years ago and then had a deal for two lines for $100. After awhile, T-Mobile offered a line for free so I took it.

I just use one line as a phone and the other two are more or less outgoing phones/internet connected devices. For now, it just doesn't make sense to me to cancel two of the lines when one line will cost nearly $80.

I'm sure one day I'll go back to just one line and one phone but that will be a lot less fun.

Totally agree. I'm still 'missing' apps from previous backups that should have been there. But because I never use the damn things I have never gotten around to reinstalling them.

I have maybe a total of 10 or so apps I actually use and most of those are the stock apps. I've found over the years that the app store is great for finding apps but actually using what you found and took the time to install is an entirely different matter. :)

I own a 7, 7 plus and SE. I regularly switch the SIM in a different phone daily or after a few days, depending on my mood. I take the train and bus daily so sometimes I want to hold a smaller phone while reading a Kindle book. Or am out and about and just want to stick the little SE in my pocket for essential communications. Or I use the 7 plus at home as a general reading tablet if I don't feel like holding my bigger iPad mini. It's fun and gives me something "different" to play with each day.
