Right this is doing my head in and I'd really like to know how many of you have this backlight issue:

On a dark/ black background how many of you with iMacs experience backlight leak which makes the screen in parts lighter than the rest of the dark background/ screen. Like a silvery tinge if you like.

With mine it's at the bottom right and left part of the screen.
It's my 4 th machine and this is the only issue I have with it, no yellow tint just this.

How many of you have this?

4th machine? I am certain that you find something wrong with everything you purchase right?

Imagine buying an HP or Dell product. No such thing as perfect.

I have 3 Imac's in my home and all have the yellow tint issue, but the only time you see it is if you run the test for it. Otherwise they all look perfect to all the users that use them.

These forums are a great source of information, but they also promote looking for the slightest issue with every Apple product made. Next it will be the level test. Someone will lay a level across the top of his Imac and claim it is off by 1 degree. Oh my God. lets all test our Imac screens to see if they are level.

Are you Really certain?

Actually FYI the iMac is the first product I have issues with and I have many apple products.

For the money these imac27s cost I want a close to perfect machine you can get and if the 27s in :apple: stores have a perfect screen and the one I get delivered does not then there is something obviously wrong with the screen which has been verified by :apple: techs and instore staff.

If you are happy with your yellow tint then that's your decision and I respect that and if you do not want to par take in a reasonable discussion/ poll then I am CERTAIN you have better things to do with your time.

Sorry about hearing this again.

I have had 2 iMac with this problem. I couldn't stand the backlighting issue so I went back with the Mac. Yes, you're right. For the price of the iMac, it should be perfect. I'm waiting for the Sandy Bridge to arrive and then I will see if the iMac is okey.

If it's not, I'm buying another MacBook Pro when this dies.
