Pay to be in Apple's Developer program, but don't actually develop any apps?

Or, do you just want to be the one person that has the software first?

Just curious

Their's no way to know this info.

Sure there is.

How many people that visit this site, pay Apple, the $99.00 developer fee just to gain access to the developer build's.

Are you gathering some kinda number report for your thesis or something?

Sorry, don't mean to dismiss your question. It just seems rather pointless.

It's not a pointless question. He wants to know who pays for the dev problem so they can receive the beta updates first before the general public. What's so pointless in that? Maybe he wants to do it too.

i say there's quite a bit of people that do. i know one person who does, and he shares his account with a few friends, including me.

i wish i could develop for the iPhone. no time, and don't know how to code.

If you really are curious, why don't you add a poll to this thread? Seems to me that would be the best way to get your answer, provided people actually vote and do so honestly.

In my opinion, if the OP wants to do it, he/she should just do it, regardless of what people here do.

It's not that the question is pointless, but the answer will be.

He wants to know how many there are, but we have no way of knowing how many are out there that don't post on Macrumors.

Wanting to know that number isn't pointless, but seeing as how he can't get an answer, asking it is kind of a waste of time.

No, I don't plan on becoming a developer. Nor am I collecting any data about who pays and who doesn't. It was just a question.

Like I said, I was just curious if anyone that posts on here pays the developer fee just to access the beta builds before public release. It seems to me reading the forums most people don't want to wait for the public release's is all.
