I keep reading all these Powerbook or MacBook Pro threads with people that can't choose between the two. So I am asking how many people actually purchased a Powerbook within the last week or so, or plan too in the next week even though the MacBook Pro will be shipping.

I for one just bought a 17" Powerbook with memory coming to max it out at 2GB.

Maybe this way people that did choose a PB over a MBP won't feel as bad knowing they aren't the only ones that possibly wasted money (lol).

I purchased a 15" Powerbook 2 weeks ago. I am very happy with my new laptop. My prior PB was stolen over the holidays and I needed a replacement. The Intel books had been introduced but I went with the tried and true PB 1.67 and will wait until any bugs are worked out of the software and hardware. Besides, the store gave me a great price on the new computer!!

I'm in about my 3rd week of ownership of the same thing: a 17" PB maxxed out with 2GB RAM.

I still use too many classic apps, both at work and on my own time, to have much interest in an Intel-powered Mac at this point. (Heck, my use of old 68K apps has only tapered off to nearly nothing in the last year or so!)

When this one gets sufficiently old and incapable of doing what I need it to do, I'll get an Intel Mac laptop. Which, based on the active lifespan of my previous PowerBook (a '98 WallStreet), may be around 2011 or so.
