Hi.

Quick question. I realized i am using more SMSs then I thought I would and was wondering if I can tell how many I sent (and i guess received since I (may?) be charged for those too?)

Is there some option on the iphone that shows me this?

I have the basic ATT iphone plan. (new customer.)

Thanks

Dial *DATA# in the keypad and press Call. You'll receive an SMS from AT&T.

For more of these: click here. There's also some in Settings -> Phone -> AT&T Services

And, finally, you can also view all this information at https://www.wireless.att.com/olam/dashboardAction.olamexecute, or Settings -> Phone -> AT&T Services -> AT&T MyAccount. You need to register if it's your first time viewing the site)

when i do this it says that this information is not available until my next bill cycle, what does this mean

Cool, I never knew about *data#! I used to use it all the time when I was with verizon. I didn't see it in the att services menu when I first went through the phone, so I assumed it wasn't available.

Existing ATT customers who changed plans seem to get that message.

It means you should get the Lube out.

Does that data text sent from AT&T count as part of your text totals, or is that considered a system message?

thank you! it works (I have 180 left.) so I will use this as a baseline and see if I need to upgrade next month.

Also something i just want to mention...in the past when you switch to a new data plan AT&T/Cingular usually gave u unlimited data for the first month just to get you all excited that way the next month you end up going over. I don't know if this sticks with the iPhone Data plan but it is possible. So text away i guess?!:D
