How many times can you download Sierra? (Multiple drives)

How many times can you download Sierra? I have several hard drives and 2 MBP's.

My original disk is a "Snow Leopard", and I am now on Yosemite 10.10.5 for the only MBP I am using currently. The 2nd MBP os broken, but I may fix it.

The last paid upgrade for OS X was Mountain Lion. Everything from Mavericks onward has been free. So long as you're logged into the Mac App Store, there's never been a limit on how many times you can download on app, including the OS X installer.

I'm not clear on whether in your first sentence, you're referring to a computer that was already upgraded from Snow Leopard to Yosemite. If you have Yosemite, it's a direct upgrade. If you're on Snow Leopard, you need to move to El Capitan first.

Why not just make yourself a USB thumb drive installer? Download once, install as many times as you like, easiest way is to get DiskMakerX (free), and you just need a 8GB (or larger) USB thumb drive (I've used SD cards also, can be faster on a Mac that only has USB 2), here's a blog post on it, (no not working for or promoting anyone, it's free): http://blog.macsales.com/37977-create-a-bootable-macos-sierra-install-drive
