Apparently a MacBook Pro can take a lot of damage.

Back story:
This was a faculty computer from the college I work at. The Macbook Pro was in a neoprene sleeve and was ejected from a car during an accident. The system got a little damage, but still completely operates except for the SuperDrive.

See for yourself:

Wow! That is horrible! I hope I never have to see my baby looking like that! I can't believe it still works in that condition!

Wow! Make sure that battery doesn't explode or leak acid all over. It would be a shame if that destroyed it after surviving the impossible.

Do all the peripheral ports work?

Looks like a pop can. I wonder if a MacBook would be better off in that situation, or if the aluminum actually protected the innards by absorbing energy. I figured someone just dropped it off the table.

Well, even though I have always to see to believe it, I guess this time I 'll believe it anyway, I WON'T TRY ON MY OWN MBP

I will try it on my own MBP. Then I'll take it to the Apple store and say that it wasn't my fault and get them to give me a Core 2 Duo.

Because the MBP is owned by the university, we are actually going to send it off to get repaired. Oh, how I would love to see the repair technicians face when they open the box.
