AppleCare for a Mac is a 3 year deal that unfortunately cannot be extended.

Looks like it's still current. Unfortunately, they don't give the cost up-front. Seems you actually need to own the product before the website will tell you. Someone at an Apple Store could probably give you the info., but hopefully you'll get a reply from a MR member who's made the purchase. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210580

got the cheapest Mac Mini M1 during the $599 deal on Amazon today, but it won't ship for another week. :( guess I'll find out sooner or later. :)

Let us know! I'm curious whether they'll let you purchase extended covered this early, or if you need to wait until you get towards the end of the 3 years of AppleCare+.

In case anyone's wondering why I'm looking for the answer... :)

There are two Macs on my desk right now. Both are glorified paperweights. The Macbook Air died about 7 months after the 3-year AppleCare expired. Apple wanted $500+ to replace the logic board. A local repair shop quoted me $300. The guy on YouTube(Rossman or somethin?) quoted me $350. It wasn't worth it. Same deal with my Mac Mini.. died about a year after the AppleCare ended. Repair cost was more than a refurbished unit.(still several hundred dollars).

I dont' mind paying a few bucks to extended my new Mac Mini's warranty beyond the 3 years. :)
