Not much?

Well, it's worth over £200 and counting to the idiots bidding on this.

Notice, in the large body of text, it states:

This auction is not for an actual Apple IPad, it is for an image of an Apple IPad, so before bidding on this auction please note you will not be bidding on an apple IPad. You will how ever win an image of an apple IPad printed on paper. So do not bid if you do not want a printed image of the Apple IPad.

Just had to share this, it was too funny not to :p

Wonder how long til that gets pulled down.

I'm all for "buyer beware", but to hide those three "CYA" sentences in the middle of a HUGE paragraph of specs is crap. Or utter tosh, or however you say it over there.

Up to £300 now. I think the winning bidder is going to be very annoyed. Unless they did actually want to buy a printed iPad version for some reason

That is one of the most misleading ads I have ever seen. It has been reported to eBay.

Maybe a few people should click on report this listing. The more that do it more likely it'll be pulled.

I was doing that right as you posted. great minds think alike!

I reported it, yeah call me whatever, but the person shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. Otherwise eBay will be swamped with garbage like that.

Edit: Genius? Hardly, good way to get booted of eBay, that's about it. Do you think the person who wins it is not going to kick up a storm? Hope they pay through pay pal so they can lock the payment for a refund.

Old Ebay used to display bidder names, which although we open to abuse was handy to contact a bidder to tell them they're being scammed.

Anyway, we've done our bit. Hopefully Ebay will do there's now.

Stuff like this has been going on since ebay started. I remember a few years ago someone "won" an auction for a PS2 @ $600 USD... which was nothing more than an empty box that once HAD a PS2 in it.

I was bidding on this auction. Why did you all have to go and get it removed?!

Now I'll have to go through all the trouble and expense of printing a picture of an iPad myself.

;)

I have also seen auctions that are just ads for "How to get a free iPad!" that involves subscribing to a bunch of magazines and services and... posting fake eBay auctions advertising how to get a free iPad. Seller said all bids would be considered donations. Last I saw, it was over $500 US.

Presumably you could have paid with an image of your credit card printed on a piece of paper.

Tell you what, for a small fee I'll print a picture if an iPad for you. For a small upcharge, I'll print it from my iPad running 4.2 beta. :D
