Hi! I'm looking to buy a used iMac from someone, I've been offered a late 2012, 27 inch, 3.4ghz Intel Core i7, 24gb 1333 MHz DDR3 ram, with a 1TB SSD drive that was added in 2018 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048MB.

I want to buy a iMac for some video editing and podcast recording, how much do you think I should pay for this iMac, i'm worried late 2012 is getting a little old... I was offered 900$ CAN for it, what do you think?

I don't know the current market value for them, but that is my iMac exactly except for I have 32 GB RAM. It was top-of-the-line BTO machine back then. Mine has been great and it still runs the latest version of MacOS Mojave just fine.

I’d say $900 canadian, which is around $675 us, is high for that old of a machine.
I would take that offer if I were you and not look back

So you're saying I should take the offer or it's too old?

Would you machine be able to work FCPX?

I was looking at the refurbished section but I can't get the specs I want for under 1500$ or more!

I would see if you could get the seller down a couple more hundred canadian. I honestly doubt he’ll find another buyer at the current price anytime soon.

Some people really cling to this myth that apple computers hold their value. Thats true to a point, but they take that belief and run with it like a crazy person
