can this computer play youtube videos and does it seem slow? would it be useful for browsing and watching youtube videos and on websites with a lot of flash content?

I used an iMac G5 for 6 years, and it'll do whatever you try and tell it to, rather it be working with large photoshop files or browsing flash intensive websites. What it can't do, is playback hd flash vids fluently. It will also struggle with x264/h264 encoding of videos. But asides that, it's a decently powerful computer.

Other than that, there's really no point in getting one if you can find a cheap core2duo iMac.

In direct comparison with just about any Core2Duo iMac it will seem slow.

If you already have one, I would highly, highly recommend updating to a Core 2 Duo, even a Core Duo. If you're planning on buying, don't waste the money. These are already going on Apple's Obsolete/Vintage parts lists and won't be able to be serviced, and if you have an iMac G5, chances are very high you will need an MLB or PSU replacement or combo of each at some point. These units had an REP established a couple years ago for Video Distortion and Intermittent Power Off and it still happens, even after replacing parts.
