How much more would you be willing to pay for a “Made in USA” iPhone edition?

Suppose you could buy the exact same phone, at one price for Made in China/India, and another price for Made in USA. It’s unlikely this would ever be the case, of course.

You’re going to need higher tiers than 100%. Not for what I’d pay, but for what Apple would have to charge.

Why pay more if you can pay less?
All these people willing to pay more just out of nowhere - zelle/venmo me the money that doesn’t fit into your wallet.

This reminds me of protestors for refugee rights being asked if they're willing to adopt or house them.

Almost all of them are not personally willing to take them in.

A challenge for "Made in America" anything is quantity of skilled labor and parts availability. You'd need to build it up. That will cost extra over a "Made in India" or even a "Made in Vietnam".

I read about a startup manufacturer in Texas once. They make assorted screws for tech devices IIRC. They had to hire someone outside the USA to teach them how to do it and had to create all the dyes.

America sent those jobs overseas a long time ago.

There is a video which measured all the assembly on a Toyota built in US versus Japan. Difference is quite big.

If the workers that would be doing iphones in US are anything close to what i find at my workplace everyday, then i would prefer to have it built in China cause at least “it works”.
