Recent rumors point to the price of the 11in staying constant and the 12.9 increasing somewhat due to mini-led. What would be the price increase you would be comfortable with for mini-led?

I don’t care what they increase the price by for mini-led.

If there aren’t significant software improvements, and there probably won’t be until at least iPadOS 15/WWDC, then for me there’s no point buying it no matter what price it is.

I’m done buying amazing hardware with the promise of better software later. I want to see the software improvements now otherwise there’s very little incentive to purchase over the iPad Pro 2018 & 2020.

fair point, at this point Apple is struggling to find compelling hardware reasons to get people to upgrade a 2018/2020. The main push towards upgrades might come from software...
Anyway for those in the market for a pro anyway, I wonder how much more they are ready to pay....

Seems to be the main change (mini led), honestly don't think the change warrants a price increase as it's already very expensive.

If they bump to 256gb base, which they really should, then it would be much easier to swallow.

Agreed, the Tab S7+ is $200 more than the S7 and it's OLED (vs iPS), so Apple has enough room to keep prices unchanged at $999 and above, but maybe the mini-led shortage pushed them to say, well, if we can't sell enough anyway, why don't we at least bump the price a bit.

Not one soul of a normal consumer will ever care about "mini-led" or having to pay extra for it.

Mini LED will be standard on the 12" to begin with, so you will have to pay the going rate.

It was already confirmed yesterday that the 2021 iPad Pro will cost more than the current model. So you either pay it & get the device or you don't.

Just mini-led (and processor) changes would not tempt me. So £0.

As others have said it's software changes I would like and multi screen support.

I have a 2018 and felt no need to go to 2020. Since I have no complaints about the screen, that isn't enough to upgrade for me. Instead it might be if the new pencil somehow only works with 2021 & it itself has some amazing features I can't get. Like you said, in my view the iPP have been great pieces of kit that it takes a bit to justify stepping up again for little reason. It will be the software, and if better hardware is needed to take advantage of any big changes.

Would like to pay nothing more than the current price. But with mini LED and possibly 5G, I expect $50 to $100 increase

Fair point, that's why I also put an option "won't buy". This also means that Apple is using mini-led (and maybe 5G for the cellular version) as a way to permanently increase the price of the 12.9 iPad pro....

None. Mainly because it's still an iPad. Once you hit over a certain price, you're getting into territory that would make more sense just to get a nice TV. Not to mention, most apps won't take advantage of the better screen until at least a year from now.

My philosophy: if you wanted a better screen ,you would have already gotten a device that had that.

Mini-LED isn't a selling factor for me but I do want to upgrade (hoping for A14X, 8GB RAM, 1TB and 5G) so I'm budgeting $2000 with tax (2018 Pro 12.9 1TB LTE was $1899 before tax). No official accessories for me. I expect my existing accessories (Logitech Crayon, K780 keyboard and MX Ergo trackball) will continue to work on the new models.

Mini-LED? Absolutely nothing more
Micro-LED on the other hand? I'd be willing to pay the $200 premium, just how i'm fine with paying it for OLED.

Nothing. This type of change is not something that needs to be paid extra for.

Same for me, mini-led is not really a selling point, maybe even a detractor if, as rumors suggest, makes the iPad thicker and heavier (without a bigger battery or a harder case), but a detractor we might have to pay for to get the 12.9 if the price difference with the 11in does increase and this is the only difference between them...
