I can't wait for PowerSupport to release their iPad AntiGlare film... I hate fingerprints with a fiery passion.

MicroFiber Cloth

Just keep a microfiber cloth nearby / in your bag. You WILL get prints on this no matter so just make cleanup quick / easy...

I guess I'm wondering about more than just prints -- I'm wondering about permanent damage. Will that piece of dust get through the seals? Will my hand sweat get through the seals?

Will my nails scratch the glass?

Ugh, pretty sure I have OCD or something :p

Since it couldn't be etched with an actual nail (think hammer) I think you'll be safe...

You'll be hard pressed to damage the glass via scratching.

As far as moisture/dust/etc... no more than with any phone or laptop.

You'd have to drop it to break it... I don't recommend testing that. :D

Don't baby the iPad at all! It doesn't need it, and he feeling of freedom that comes from jus using it the way Jobs intended is beyond words. I think iPad shipped without a microfiber cloth for a reason; it is a message to us saying "don't worry about fingerprints or imaginary threats to the glass -- just have fun."

This will be my first Apple touch device I don't baby.

I just put it in the Apple iPad case as soon as I took it out the box and that's the end of it.

Not putting a screen protector, not worrying about taking finger prints off every two seconds, etc..

That said I'm enjoying it a lot more then I did say with my iPhone initially. The little guys are enjoying it too.

considering you bought one within 24 hours of its release, odds are good you'll replace it with V2 within 24 hours of its release, which will probably be within the next 12 months. therefore, babying it is probably not crucial from the standpoint of preserving it for your own use, but a good idea from the standpoint of resale.
