How much space can I free up by deleting IWORK Trial and MSOFFICE Trial?

I just received by black macbook...160gb...but only 30gb is taken up by OSX along with other misc programs...and I am wondering how much space I can free up by deleting MSoffice trial along with Iwork trial?
Any other programs I can delete to free up for space?

Umm, click once on a folder and hit Command-I (Get Info) that will tell you how much space that folder occupies.

Another thing you can do is to download DeLocalizer from www.versiontracker.com and delete foreign language resources - that'll save about 1 Gb. If you don't plan on using GarageBand, you can delete it and it's Library of loops from the Library: Application Support folder to save another 2 - 3 Gb

IIRC, the MS Office Trial has an uninstaller application, correct? Probably best to use that. With most other Mac programs it is sufficient to delete the application folder, and then have a peek in Library for any extra resources.

I think you can get quite a bit of space from uninstalling them.

Also try and uninstall any languages you don't need using....I forgot the program. But it works.

Also Garage Band and iPhoto are probably the biggest HD hogs on your Mac. I haven't deleted them because I upgrade my HD, but was really considering it.

Monolingual is a great program for removing excess languages and keyboard types.

AppZapper is the best for uninstalling programs.

Also deleting printer drivers that you dont use will clear up hard drive space.

Whenever I get a new Mac I always boot it up the first time with the install CD/DVD in, holding the C key down. I do an 'erase and install' install without the additional OS languages, without garageband and the trials, and without any printer drivers I don't need. That takes it down to about a 6gb install.

It takes about 20-25 minutes to do this, but then I know I have a minimal system to start off with. I mean 30gb taken up is insane!

Does nobody else do this?
I recommend everybody I know that buys a Mac do this.
