Hi all,

I am a current BlackBerry user wanting to switch to an iphone. I'm not sure if I need the 8gb, 16gb or 32gb model though. I will be using it mainly for applications. Some photos, very little videos. I may also consider putting music on it. Any suggestions?

Thanks! :D

You should hold out for the 64 GB iPhone coming out in January.

Depending on the number of photos and amount of music you want to put on it, the 8 GB or 16GB may be plenty for you. Applications take very little space. Video recording takes about 26 MB/min, if you're interested in the 3GS for that functionality.

You should also consider, though, that as you grow to love your iPhone you may find that you want your entire collection of '70s disco tracks with you at all times or that you can't live without your home video collection in your pocket. Might want to plan for expansion in your use.

How much music? It sounds like the 8GB will be fine for you unless you have thousands of songs.

Just get the 32. It'll allow you to use the phone as an iPod and allow you to have flexibility in the future. Don't skimp when you can double the size for not much more in cost.

I can't see myself building up thousands of songs. But I do like the idea of having enough space for whatever I develop a taste for.

I had about 100-200 songs along with some films on my old 8GB 3G and it was fine. Don't feel you need loads of memory just be comfortable.

I would probably go for the 16 GB, then. You should be fine with that, and it's not much more expensive. The next question is 3G or 3GS. ;-)

For a 16GB it needs to be a 3GS anyway.

Which reminded me actually, if you want things like video recording and the faster speed, you'll need to get the 16GB for now (rumors show a 8GB 3GS very soon though).

All I know is that the iPhone 3G price card listed prices of $99 for an 8GB and $149 for 16 GB. I was buying a 32 GB 3GS anyway, so I didn't really look that closely.

It sounds like you would only need a 8GB or 16GB iPhone. I'd go for the 16GB, depending on what apps you plan to add to it.

You should hold out for the 128gb one coming out in 2011.:D

I heard the 1TB iPhone 6G is coming out in 2016. Complete with QuadCore processor and nVidia graphics. HD video camera, up to 120 Mbps data, and battery life is supposed to be 45 hours talk/data and 500 hrs standby. Interestingly, still no multitasking.

I have a 32 Gb 3gs with about 80% of everything I plan to have on it (about 6 pages of apps), and it shows I am only using 1% of my disk space. My friend has an 8gb and he says his is almost full.

I would go with a 16gb if money is a concern.

Do you have another iPod/mp3 player or will this be your primary one? it doesn't hurt to have the 16GB 3G S, you get a faster phone and doubled memory on the 3G for only a hundred bucks more. Plus it has a video camera

LMAO I cracked up at that!
