I know that SD movies seem to use up between 1-2GB, and I was wondering if Apple does ever start selling HD movies how much space they use. Any ideas?

"Live Free or Die Hard" for the ATV from Apple (720p, DD) is 3.98 gb.
I started downloading that tonight. After about 1 hour it is 60% downloaded. Does that sound right?
Roland - we're on Qwest at 1.5 mbps. I started at 8 pm and by 10 pm it was something like 25% finished. Went to bed and watched it the next night. No way it'll be real-time for us; not unless we pay for the bandwidth. And I'm too cheap for that.![]()
I rented Fantastic 4: The Silver Surfer in HD, and it was 3-4GB on my Apple TV.
Live Free or Die Hard downloaded in approx. 2hr - 2hr20min. It is the only movie on my Apple TV and iTunes reports 3.99 GB of video.
What forces this 4GB limit? The max file size in HFS Plus is a tad bigger (approx. 8 million TB), so it's not that.
Hmmm, I wonder if it's due to the FAT32 filesystem's 4GB limit - it's used on many PCs (probably most Macs that use Boot Camp) and possibly on some iPods?
Though it would be odd if Apple created an iTunes file size limit for all filesystems based on the most limited filesystem available.
