For anyone who recently bought a new Mac with a 512 GB SSD and Catalina, about how many GBs were left out of the box? Thanks!

Around 480-500GB if I recall.

Wow. Apples to oranges but my Windows machine with a 512 GB had about 420 GB left out of the box.

Apple does a better job with their storage management and I think it's improved with APFS.
