I have an issue where the swipe to open works sometimes and not others. Also, sometimes the iphone (5s) screen is responding to touches that I didn't do (hands no where near the phone). For example, it takes the phone out of speaker mode multiple times during a conversation. One time, I even saw the speaker button being "touched", but not by me. I have to pay real close attention in case it happens so I don't have the person on the other end think I'm ignoring them.
This is a pesky problem!
I've tried removing the case, making sure all apps not running, partial reset, cleaning the screen, etc. The only thing that works, temporarily is rebooting the darn thing.
Then about three phone calls later, it all happens again...
I found a Web site that describes this problem and its most likely cause: Hardware Issue.
Based on the Apple support URL below, it looks like I need to have the screen worked on.
http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201406
Does anyone have a ballpark on how much this screen replacement might cost and if they replace the screen or whatever while you wait (at the Apple Store)?
Thanks for any insights on this.
