How much to spend in total if I get an iPad?

Last night I was thinking today I buy an iPad 16GB. This morning I'm thinking, I don't really need it.

My wife was even asking, you gonna get the iPad today? Well, I was going to get two, one for me and one for her, but then realized, when are we going to need it?

I also want two so that my kids won't complain about what movie is on when we are driving - they can watch whatever movie they want, play games, or read a book.

But still... I think its the pricing.

What would I get?

1 iPad is $499
What does the extended apple care cost?
a case is what, $39?

Plust tax in Los Angeles at 9.75%!

If I buy two, that's more than a grand! WOW!

Then I would think I'd buy at least 5 movies, ibooks, and some apps... HMMM... THe more I think about it, the more I feel, not a good idea.

BUT... I WANT ONE!

If you're planning to get multiple of them and use them in the car too, maybe you should get one wifi and one 3g instead of all wifi.

You should never buy two of anything without first owning one!! You may find many things that convince you that you only need one. For instance, you may find there is really no problem from the children, that you and your wife may never want to use it at the same time or one is willing to wait until the other is done. My GF and I discussed this and I will be buying the 3G model when it is released. However, she will not get one for a few months until we are able to fully appreciate the need to have two. We both have laptops and iPhones thus we think for the most part, one of us will hardly if ever NEED to use the iPad because there are no other devices available.
