Hey, my macbook like I think most peoples in the world does both whine and occasionally when it's hotter moo. So I was wondering where do you draw the line and say its time to return it? Everything else about this machine is amazing and its really only the whining that kind of bothers me. The moo isn't all that bad.

I think it's all about personal preference. Some people want their machines to be perfect, and copmlain about the littlest things, while some don't care. If it got annoying I'd return it.

My machine doesn't whine, and only moos when I use it on my pillow on the bed (probably cause it doesn't let much of the heat dissapate).

surely you know there's no firm answer there. You should return it when it gets to the point that *you* find it unacceptable. You're the one using your macbook, so all that really matters is what is ok for you. Why would it matter if it reached a certain decibel level, or if most members here thought it was too loud if it didn't bother you? And the reverse is true too, of course.
