Hi all,
I have been looking for a mac discount lately and came across a potential deal:
A floor model 2 ghz core duo MBP with 1 gb of ram. It's keyboard was pretty abused and needs to be replaced...there are many keys missing. Anyone have any idea how much apple will charge for a new keyboard and installation? Also the sales guy wanted 1150, + a $90 discount for apple care, for the computer. I think that number is high because it as been turned on for months now and received abuse from countless customers. I will go back after i have an idea of how much the keyboard repair will cost and try to talk to the manager. Any suggestions for how much to offer? I remember reading that people got their core duo mbp for around 1100-1200 when they were discontinued.
Thanks for your help,

When I had my PowerBook's keyboard replaced under AppleCare about a year ago, the price would have been about $150. Since the MBP's keyboard is basically the same thing, I'd think it would cost about the same.

If you're into this sort of thing, you should just follow the link Snappier Safari posted and replace it yourself, you'll save about 50%
