It's amazing how such a small thing, a really insignificant thing, can be so huge. It probably took that manager maybe 5 or 10 minutes to get some water, or food, or whatever, and another 5 or 10 minutes to pass it out to people. Not a huge thing to add to his day.

But the good will he just engendered will be long lasting, I bet. The small things like this will end up making more of an impression than all the big sales bulletins and commercials.

To those of you that had someone bring you something like this, take some time when you are back home to write an email to AT&T, or apple, or whoever. Let their boss, or corporate, or whoever, know that you appreciated their little act of kindness. It will go a long way. And people DO pay attention to that sort of thing.

Just a thought...

Good luck on the wait.

I thought so to when I got here last night....but there was another SUV with 3 guys in it...Then right when we got out of the car another guy jump in front of us all....Rude thing to do but no one really cared since we were there first couple....The line is now over 20

the att store im waiting at (woodbury, irvine, ca), the manager hasn't given us anything. and theres no wifi. and no way to charge laptop batteries. and its sunny. it sucks

The Falls Apple store ROCKS! There were apple employees giving out water like every hour and then waitresses from Johnny Rockets came over and gave us menu's, took our orders and served and billed us right where we were sitting. it doesn't get easier than this!

For Florida weather, the climate today is simply fantastic. Its raining (we are inside ofcourse) and its cool breeze and a simply superb atmosphere all around. The Apple store is all curtained up and no one knows what the heck is going on inside. Another 3 hours and its iPhone time!!!

Cheers.

That's awesome! Almost makes me wish I still lived on Staten Island.

I will be getting on line at an AT&T store 10 minutes from my school in Boston. Just 20 minutes till my campout!

im in menlo park mall in nj. lol but idk if they gave em oout at all stores. the mall is being real cool with the apple and att stores tho

looking forward to getting home....The pics of the screen look really really good so far

The Apple Store people here were giving out drinks (water), but they have since disappeared after 2:00. They put up signs on the windows that say "iPhone world premiere. June 29 6PM"

The manager at the New York AT&T store at 7th and 43rd (Times Square) just came out and kindly told us she'd give us an update in 30 minutes and answer questions so that when we go in, we'll know what we want. So cool. The policeman said they will let us know when it's sold out so that we don't waste time. I am about maybe the 30th or less in line, so even if everyone bought 2 in front of me, I think I'm okay. No worries.
