Unveiled: 19th of October 2011 (delayed from October 11th)
Since then?

No concrete release date? Check
Delays on rumoured release dates? Check
Bloatware? Check
Carrier interference? Check (Or maybe not if you believe Verizon.)

Two of the biggest things I admire with Apple and its products is it's ability to announce then release in a swift manner and it's ability to release handsets without any carrier interference.

For me the best thing about a "Nexus" android handset is a pure, no nonsense Android experience with Google and its primary OEM in control but the Verizon GN seems anything but at the moment.

Lets see how Nokia, Microsoft and T-Mobile handle the Lumia launch in the U.S. Hopefully they'll show Google/Samsung and Verizon how it's done.

So some tech blogs post rumored release dates, and when those dates keep changing it's somehow the fault of Verizon/Google?

Fail.

Did you not read my post? It's not about release dates exclusively, but also about the bloatware and the way that Verizon are interfering with the handset.

Fail? Very childlike.

Don't think his point is rumoured dates. He's just saying its taking an age for google to release the thing.

Are they trying to build hype? Who knows but it a pretty long wait.

I don't think it's a Google issue since the phone has been released in Europe already. The evidence points to Verizon being the cause of the delay.

Surely you jest. This "bloatware" you're referring to is two apps - My Verizon and Backup Assistant - that can be disabled natively with two clicks in Android 4.0.

Please.

I've had zero carrier bloatware/software on my Nexus One, Nexus S or my Galaxy Nexus. Even the Sprint exclusive Nexus S4G has been devoid of any carrier bloat.

It's great that Google have added the ability to disable any bloatware on ICS but the fact that it's a Nexus device with bloat is a worrying thing to see.
