Now that Apple controls all components, do you see them being updated (or refreshed) yearly? Every 2 years? I’m personally hoping they get updated on an annual basis, like iPhones.
It’s going to be really interesting to see how Apple handles its processors moving forward. We’re expecting new higher-end chips later this year with the “M1X”. Do you see these chips being reused in 2022’s 24” iMac?
Or more likely a M2 for entry-level machines like the Air, Mac Mini, 24” iMac, then a M2X for MacBook Pro and iMac Pro? If they go down that road, they’d need to gimp the M2 to make sure it’s not as powerful as the M1X.
