This is driving me nuts. I can't believe such a simple thing to do is so hard on Mac OS! I want to send a couple of images in an email but don't want them to be attached inline but rather as an actual attachment!

I tried searching for this and a few guides suggester running this command in Terminal:

defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes

but that doesn't help

Any ideas?
 
Apple Mail -> File -> Attach Files...
Just tried it, it still attached the images inline in the email body

Guess I'll have to just zip them

They appear inline because most people want to see what they're sending. Just right click the image and select "View as Icon" and it'll hide the image preview it's giving you.
