How on earth do you set up parallels?

I'm totally lost I'm in the program but have no idea what to do now

1. Read the help file that came with it
2. Create a New VM and name it whatever you want.
3. Make sure that the CD/DVD option thingy is set to your actual CD/DVD drive
4. Insert the CD and start parallels up i.e click the green play button.
5. It will boot from the CD and then just continue on with installation
6. After installing XP (I assume its XP you're installing) then install the parallels tools
7. Enjoy windows on a Mac

this is the 2nd post today with problems.
i just got my copy of parallels in the mail today and i am starting to worry.
boot camp was a breeze to install.
i would hope that parallels would be easy as well.

Nah, when it comes down to it Parallels is actually easier to install. Its a bit overwhelming at first since you don't really know whats going on but if you follow the instructions in the help file everything should be fine

I concur, I also felt the Parallels install was actually far more comfortable than Boot Camp. It also felt faster, but I think part of that might be that I installed 2K intead of XP in Parallels.

Since installing Windows and updates and apps involves mutliple reboots it was nice to be able to keep browsing the web while the VM was rebooting.
