I have a couple apps that save the username on them, but they don’t let me save a password. I created a password in keychain for the website of the app, but in order to fill it I need to tap on the password field, then click on “passwords (and key at bottom, then search for the correct name, then it will load it. Why can’t I just have it automatically fill the password?

I use a couple of web sites that won't allow saving of passwords. That really depends on the security requirements on the site itself.

Wish it were that simple. When you are at the password prompt 3 things might happen:

1. You manually enter in a password

2. Your password is filled in from Keychain

3. Your password is filled in from another app, such as 1Password.

There is no way that IOS knows which option you want, so it defaults to (1) with the option of autofilling by hitting the password field for (2) or (3).

There are numerous apps that don't allow passwords to be saved. Banks and credit cards come to mind are some examples. It's up to the developer and company behind the app.
