I use it exclusively, and it never fails, so I question how accurate it is. No-one else is privy to my computer, but I'd like to be assured it's near fail-safe, just in case. I used to work at a place that required the whole palm to enter, and quite often I'd have to redo. My only basis for comparison.

The lack of failures doesn’t inherently mean it’s not as secure; it might be highly sensitive and able to read the print despite slight variations in angle and alignment etc. Your old work reader might have been crappy at reading anything other than a perfectly placed hand.

I have no answer, but this shouldn’t be hard to test. Just see if any of your acquaintances can unlock it with their prints...

Use another finger and see if it unlocks, problem solved.
