TBH I always use Samsung browser on samsung phones. I find not only does it have smoother scrolling, it actually utilises far less ram than chrome does on the device.
Strange thing is when you open same number of tabs/pages in chrome on a samsung device, and then do the same with chrome on an alternative HTC, LG, Nexus and look at memory usage - the Samsung device chrome usually uses a lot more ram ?
There used to be a chrome plug-in to improve performance of chrome on galaxy devices but I don't think it's applicable anymore.

I'd say fairly significant, although I haven't scientifically tested it. Samsung browser also has the fingerprint instead of passwords if you prefer, and you can install adblockers. Chrome is decent, but the ads and slowness really turn me off. There are even desktop chrome extensions which sync your desktop chrome to Samsung. Sammie really did a nice job with their browser.
