Just curious what everyone else thinks. I feel like China should be pumping out a replica sooner or later. $450 is just too steep for my pocketbook after spending $600 on the SS. Im hoping to get a replica for $50 or less :D

I saw a product listing on amazon yesterday from a company named MyCell that claims to be working on this product. It is scheduled to be released on may 31, so I guess time will tell if it is legit or not. One major problem right now is that they are using Apple's own product shots and not real shots of the product.

What this does mean is that there is plenty of manufacturer interest overseas. I think that even if this thing sucks, we will find a suitable, reasonable quality and far less expensive alternative within 6 months time.

Link for listing.

How soon before we see a Apple Link bracelet replica?!

LOL. If you haven't seen this thing in person you have no idea how intricate the link is. Any replica will be dog sh*te. And for $224 why bother risking that sort of money on a knock off? At least if you purchase the actual link bracelet you know what you're getting.

Also, another company using pictures from apples website? Have they not even got a prototype to show you? It will be sh*te.

Also, a decent link replica for $50 or less? Are you delusional?

You heard it here first.

Yeah that basically mirrors my sentiment. I sort of stumbled into that link by accident, but honestly I can't imagine one being near the same quality and for $225, I would much rather buck up and pay for the link bracelet full price anyways.

It won't be the same. Can't be. I'm pretty sure I saw a patent for Apple's butterfly clasp.

They do a massive amount of business in China. They're almost a trillion dollar company.

As much as the Chinese government looks the other way when they have copyright infringement happening in their factories, they're not going to spite Apple. Too much gravy on that train.

There will be bands that are similar, but if they get too close, Apple will tie them in knots.

Are you kidding me? Chinese companies knock off Apple products all the time. Especially the iPhone. I think at CES they already had working Apple Watch knockoffs. It's what they do. You can bet on bands that knock off the design too. And I wouldn't put it past those cheeky buggers to make it pretty close to the real thing too with all the 3d scanning and stuff you can do today for exact copies.

I get where you're coming from, but as with the multi pack of lightning cables I got off Amazon with superior build quality to apple at a fraction of the cost of one cable.

It's safe to assume that Apple charges a premium and a equal or better product can be had for less. And that's an electronic.

For a bracelet, there will be a comparable replica for less.

Click through the mycell products on Amazon. Go the Milanese Loop which has actual product pics rather than stock Apple shots. Completely different. This is going to flop big time. You get what you pay for.

If you want the link. Just buy the real deal. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1433019492.412926.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1433019509.330348.jpg

It's the most intricate piece of engineering that I personally have ever seen. Definitely worth the £379 IMO

God you are really doing an awesome job at selling that thing to me. I'm pretty much guaranteed to get one.

It happens to be one of the best looking link bracelets I have ever seen. The link removal and addition system looks brilliant.

Have you ever seen one in person?
I must admit I had that horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach when the band shipped and I had committed to the £379 purchase. But when the band got here I instantly fell in love with it. I highly doubt I will ever use my BCB again. I have a green sport band which I can see me maybe switching too if I'm doing anything that may include contact with water (theme park or such) but I can honestly say that the link will be my daily band from now on.

You know, I haven't. I am going into an Apple store for a try-on to check out the leather loops and the link bracelet. What I love about the link bracelet too is that it goes with most anything for me. Anything it doesn't go with, I have a black and white sports band for. I may buy a few more for the gym and for the fun factor of it. I think that has been the only hard part of the link bracelet is the price tag, but honestly that has been bothering me less and less. I figure if this is something I am going to wear everyday and look at and use, I might as well invest in it. I also look at other high quality link bracelets and see comparable or more expensive pricing.

How is the weight of it? What's it like compared to other metal bands and link bracelets?

I love the design but I want a Space Black or Space Grey one for my Space Grey Sport and Apple only sells the regular stainless steel. If a third party does a decent version I'd be keen.

Compared to some link bracelets I have had it is light. But when you have it on the watch there is a noticeable difference. Even though it is light it DOES feel like a quality piece of jewellery. It is also very refined looking. And as you said, is very neutral and goes with anything. I can guarantee you wouldn't be disappointed with your purchase.
