After reading the articles about Jony Ive and his knighthood this morning, I have to admit it's a brilliant thing Apple has done for years.

One hopes that the assumption of Ive's statement regarding his current work, as his most important, is at least partly in reference to the new Apple TV. With the Apple TV being the physical tV itself, not just the small box that is known as the Apple TV now.

Looking back, it's something Apple knew would be important. So they released something, called it a "hobby" so that if never reached critical mass, criticism was minimized. It opened the door for instant feedback among hundreds of thousands, and now millions of people, and it spread an ecosystem that while offered function, lay in wait for something much larger.

We'll see if the physical TV follows Apple's design standards of ingenuity, simplicity and beauty, but man, I can only imagine with the ecosystem already set up, this thing has a chance to explode in the marketplace!

How brilliant.

But as they say, so much for assumptions!
