I have 5 different iPhones on iOS 10 beta 1 ... 3 have small picture for phone calls, 2 have full screen. All settings the same, tried editing and changing photo with no luck as I did for IOS 8, does anyone have a solution? Thanks!

It works on 6 plus and 5S, not 6S plus or 6S.

Sorry, I don't have a solution but I do have full size photos on my 6, so it's not screen size related at least...

I think it's related to iOS 10. On 9.3.2 all my contacts with photo used to show in full screen. I updated to iOS 10 and several just showed a photo in a circle in the left upper corner. I tried editing, changing the photo, taking a new one and nothing worked.
I'm back in 9.3.2 and the same contacts now show full photos in a call, so I'm sure it's related to iOS 10.

Doubt it's iOS 10, I've had no full screen images on incoming calls for ages, until a few weeks ago when one suddenly changed at random to full screen and that one contact is still full screen in iOS 10

im not a beta tester.
but when this issue was raised a few years back it was traced to how the picture was originally taken (if it was taken with the iPhone camera itself or, imported into phone)

I thought it came down to the phone being locked or not. When my phone is locked I get full screen and when its not locked I get the small circle in the top corner.

There was the import or photo taken on device factor. But the photo needs to be able to fill the screen as well. Portrait photos work best. There has to be elements of the picture outside of the circle for it to work. Same as the parallax effect when setting a wallpaper.
