I found this tip on SD. Credit to the poster.
If you have had a hard time finding the refurb iPod of your choice (for me 2GB Nano for $99) on Apple.com, get up early and finally get your iPod.
I seems that Apple.com updates their refurb section at 4am ET.
I was a bit skeptical but after looking 2-3 times a day for the last 2 weeks without luck, I gave this a try. I woke up at 3:55am ET. No 2GB Nanos available. Reloaded at 4:00am ET and BAM! there they were.
I was able to snag 1 white and 2 black 2GB refurb Nanos for $270ish with a $30/$300 coupon that I had received lately.
I know that it is not the latest model but for approx $90 each delivered and no rebates to mess with, I thought it was a great purchase.
Early bird does get the worm (or hard to get Nano).
