How to add private Outlook appt. in Calendar

Hello -

I use Calendar on my iPhone and iPad, but my calendar is based through an Exchange server, hosted by my workplace.
How do I add an appointment to my diary, that will show up in my work outlook diary as 'private' - which is important, since several people can view my appointments.
Any help would be appreciated!
