How to add special characters to holder keyboard

I would like to add "ǎ" to the holder keyboard. I know to type it by using shortcut or character viewer but it is complicate for me since I have to type many of special characters a day and every day. When I hold down "a". It shows "à á â ä æ ã å ā" but not "ǎ". Anyone help me, please. Thanks

Which word processor are you using? If it is Word, then you make a macro to use a f-key to type that specific character. Or, you can try quick keys:
