Just switched out a 32gb iPad for the 64gb. No restocking fee. My rules, confirmed by Apple manager, are:

1. be nice (but you knew that)
2. don't assume they'll waive it. they don't have to. attitude is a killer. humility is all-powerful.
3. trade up, and get applecare. (this really pushed their buttons)
4. if you have an ipad and you're going to return it, stop using it. now! I used my for about 45 minutes, decided I loved it so much I wanted more memory, cleaned it up, put it back, didn't touch it the rest of the weekend. people who keep it and use if for 13 days and then come in for an exchange will have less chances of getting fee waived. The manager loved that I had barely used it. He could tell. And I had it for 2 days, brought it back in as soon as I could.

I went through all the overthink and opted not for 3G. I just can't give AT&T any more of my money. And I have wifi pretty much everywhere I need it.

Hope that helps. I love this thing. Rock on all.

Thanks for the tip. Even though I don't have one yet, I will try the 16Gb first if that isn't enough I'll get the 32GB. So this could come in handy. And yes, I will get the wi-fi too. For the time's I'm not in a WiFi zone I can tear on the apps/movies/music.
