how to backup iphone contacts

Hi, i want to jailbrake and restore it as a new iphone in order to avoid the battery issues, but i need to place somewhere my contacts because i just can't lose them. I've already tried by syncing them to outlook but they just got erased so i'm stucked restoring from my last complete backup to get them back.
What can i do?
