Hello and thanks for your help!

I have a Mac Pro and work off an external RAID 5 array. I would like to backup the RAID array onto an external hardrive to have a copy in a remote location. I am unable to do this in time machine. Suggestions?

THanks! Catherine

Well you could always just drag the contents of the Raid onto a new drive.

Or look at using a copy app like CarbonCopyCloner CCC.

Carbon Copy Cloner is the way to go. You can make bootable backups. It knows how to handle and among SnapShots. And it can do incremental backups.

REMOTE location - please define. Some consider this cloud storage others consider this physical copy stored remotely. Different approach depending on need. Also define total capacity and your typical upload/download speeds.

Good point. It seems she is asking about cloud services since she states that Time Machine won’t do what she wants and it does support multiple backups, meaning that one can always be kept off site for safety.
