iPhone X How to buy 2017 iPhone X after 2018 release?

If I was interested in the current iPhone X, is there a recommended way to buy it in the fall even if Apple officially discontinues it?

Currently on iPhone 6. I would love the X form factor, but don't need the 2018 version. Dual cameras is preferable, though depending on the features and price point of the 6.1" LCD model I may get that, if it's cheaper than a used 2017 X.

If Apple discontinues the iPhone X in place of the 2018 iPhone X in September, then your best option is either through a related tech site like Swappa, Ebay or Craigslist.
