This is my first post to the forum. I been reading the forums for a while and there is a wealth of information.

I recently bought a Ipad 3g from my friend. Ipad has been restored however, when i click on Cellular Data -> view account... my friends email address displays.

I am unable to setup a new 3g activation account. The only option I have is to enter a password. I called ATT and they said the Ipad is assigned to someone else (my friend).

I spoke to my friend and we are going to go to ATT and try to get a new micro SIm.

Is there any thing i can do to create a new 3g account. I thought ATT could RESET the sim but I guess not..

Have your friend log in with his password and cancel recurring charges.
From there you should be able to change account info and password.

Remove his previous credit card info and enter yours but I'm pretty sure your not going to be able to purchase new service till your current service period is over.
