Hello, I have a 4K TV connected to a M1 iPad Pro 12.9” 2021 via an USB-C to HDMI adapter. The external TV is in extended screen mode.

I sent to Settings->Display & Brightness and clicked the TV under Displays. However, under Display Zoom, I only have Large Text and Default. How do I get a list of resolutions and change to the resolutions I want?

At the moment you can’t - besides the settings for display zoom for your iPad screen, (if applicable) SDR or HDR, and toggling »allow display mode changes« there are no settings option available.

Apple’s implementation really is lazy and awful, for me it doesn’t even recognise the right aspect ratio on my ultrawide monitor, something that no other computer or tablet has had a problem doing. So not only do they not have a way to change it manually, they aren‘t even managing the auto recognition properly.

Out of curiosity: what monitor model? how do you connect?

Acer X34GS using a USB-C to USB-C cable.

Overall I think Apples stage manager solution is terrible compared to the competition, you get a better large screen experience on any Samsung phone with DeX than the iPad Pros give you. I think it is sad to see how Apple has gone from a company that wait a long time to release polished solutions to this where you wait a long time for a feature and get something that feels like a beta.
