How to check if battery is really charging, Macbook pro 2015

Hello,

I’ve got this Macbook pro from 2015 on which water was spilled which won’t turn on

When plugging in the charger, the light used to go from Green to Orange, like it’s supposed to.

Now, where to put my red probe to check if the battery is really charging ? Can someone show that location ?

And should I use voltage mode or amperage mode on multimeter ?

I have uploaded a general view of my motherboard.

Ps: I ended up having a short circuit on the charger for some reason while doing Voltage checking on the exact spot I’m showing on the picture (have no idea how or why?) but I still want to know if there’s a way to know how to tell if a battery is really charging.

Software wise, download and install Coconut Battery. It'll tell you. Hardware, unsure as the power components are unspecified specifically.

However, if it doesn't turn on with a power cord, then the logic board is likely fried.

I suggest check if there is any change in current draw by the charger from the mains power supply when the MPB is attached to the charger.
The extra charging energy has to come from somewhere.
You do need a multimeter that measures AC current (Amps, not just mA) at mains voltages (Safety issue!)

I do have a multimeter.

But I’m not sure of what the procedure should be, although I read many times. Should I be taking an amperage read from the power supply/charger of the Macbook from the outlet ?

And would you mind showing me where the connector of the battery is on my board please ?

I don’t know where the connector is on the board.
If you are not familiar with how to take a current reading from mains power, it is too risky to explain on a forum, from my point of view.

I have another question: you see how I tried to take a reading on the charging port as shown on the picture? Exactly where I have my red probe, I had a short, and it killed my charger/power supply.

I took it a few times, I had like 16V, but then, suddenly, it shorted.

This macbook had a history of water damage and wouldn’t turn on.

Would you know what could have possibly happen ?
