I am a little paranoid that my Mac didn't properly install Mountain Lion because when I was installing it(step 1, the step that only takes 3 minutes) I had multiple installation windows and then only one was there and it said Installing additional components when it was supposed to say "Preparing to install Mac OS X Mountain Lion." Does anyone know why it did/said this?

I think mine said Installing OS X, it did not mention Mountain Lion. Check the About This Mac from the Apple Menu, if it shows 10.8 build 12A269 you should be fine.

Ok. Yeah it says that. Also if you're still there I have one more question.

But what if iPhoto, garage band, etc came with my mac mini 2011. It's a 2011 model so I have no dvd or cd. And I can't buy it form the store (app or real) because it came with my mini. So maybe I should wait to install Mountain Lion.

If you do a clean install without having the DVD or the ability to get via the App store, then yes, you might want to hold off on installing ML.

Well I'm going to keep looking for the dvd but I may have to end up buying it.

My mini didn't come with a dvd so I'll wait I guess. Or install to a second usb hd if I can find a good deal.

This is only for a clean install , most users will update and have all the apps installed from before, but that's the downside of a clean install, you need to have all your app sources lined up.

Yes but incase of compatibility issues I will clean install. So I'll leave 10.7 alone for now.

Yeah. Mountain Lion has been running pretty well for me. All the apps I transfered via USB are all working. The only problem I have had so far is a freeze that caused me to shut the computer off and on again. I'm kinda worried about that and, again, paranoid about it but I haven't had that problem anymore.
