So the left side of the iPad imessage screen lists people I have a current message thread with and the first few lines of the last message & the right side of my screen lists the last active conversation including several messages in the conversation.

Is there a trick to clear the right hand side of the screen so it is blank? I don't want to delete any messages, I just don't want my last active conversation popping up when I open imessage.

This might be a little lame, but if you press the compose button in the upper-right of the left panel (looks like pencil and paper) it will start a new blank message. If you leave that up, it will stay up the next time you open messages. You can press cancel anytime in the upper right of the right pane to get rid of it.

You can select that New Message titled conversation before you exit to leave it on that blank one.

Did you ever receive any additional responses to this? I feel like there is another way to do it???
