So I found the library (thanks to Brianbaughn) and deleted there , however my host apps STILL list the AU units I have deleted...even after re-scanning.

Which leads me to believe there must be another folder somewhere. Is there?

you checked both the components folder in the main library and in your Home>Library>Audio folder? (Finder>Go menu, holding the option key)>Library. see if there are plugins in the components folder there.

also (of course), reboot...

I suppose you only looked in the Library folder for that...
You can also look in the other Library folder, which is in your user folder.
It's normally hidden, but you can easily make that Library folder visible.
Open your user folder, then press Command-j. The View Options window will open.
Click the box: Show Library Folder.

Ok, now I AM confused - two different answers.

Command J just opens a options box for layout of the folder

And Home>Library>Audio folder? (Finder>Go menu, holding the option key)>Library holding option key did nothing...there is no Library folder visible in that Home folder - actually it does, it opens a strip along the bottom showing the path and folder I am in

ahhh, ok I need to "hover" the pointer over Home THEN press Option - right did that found that Audio folder and nothing is in it at all as in the Components folder is empty

which DAW? try rebooting, then re-scanning...

Reaper....can find no way in its options menus to clear this cache and re-scan...asked the question on the MAC section of their forum too - but it's like *sound of crickets* over there hahaha!

I have even tried deleting it (Reaper) totally - well afaik, totally - and then re-installing (and re-booting) but these plugs keep re-appearing. Camelot has a Clear all VST/AU switch and it worked fine, those plugs all disappeared.

you're not using the vsts, only the AU plugins?

if you reboot, and open reaper, the removed plugins still show? there must be a file to delete, somewhere. good luck, maybe one of the crickets will help. or email reaper support...

Thanks :) , but that is only for VST's not AU's - there is no option in the menus I can find - also asked this at Reaper forums...thinking there must be a hidden config or inf file somewhere that gets missed when removing the app.

Been using Reaper for ages on Windows - just moved across to MAC, as you can probably guess hahaha!

On windows I'd just hunt the registry...easy peasy

there's no AU option in the drop down menu? those instructions would work IF the AU cache shows in that menu... otherwise, time to email reaper support...
