I have a 2011 iMac i took apart as the motherboard no longer works. Hoping to reuse the LCD screen into an arcade setup. I found a youtube video talking about using a kit on ebay, but no link to any kit or parts used. Anyone know how to do with this a 2011 iMac LCD? Ideally using HDMI/Thunderbolt or RCA to connect to the display.

Link to video:

noted that the video shows a 2009 model not 2011. Hoping this is still doable.

Yes its really easy actually! I did it with a 2009 27'. Just look at the lcd and look for model number, it should look something like LM215WF3(SL)(A1) (in that format but most likely different letters at the end)

then look up the model number on eBay with the search term controller board and that is all you need, and any 12v power adaptor to power it with a regular connection, most laptop or external hard drive adaptors work fine
