Hi,

I've had Time Machine backing up my Mac on External Hard Disk (1). But I've recently moved all the files from the computer onto another External Hard Disk (2) to free up space. (I'm thinking to store everything on External Hard Disk (2) from now on.

How would I go about setting up time machine to back up the stuff on External Hard Disk (2)?
(And the files and system on the mac)

And would it overwrite the original Time Machine backup?

Thanks

When you connect a second external drive like that, it is automatically excluded from TM backups, so you need to go into the Time Machine settings and remove that drive from the excluded list. From then on that drive will be included in the TM backups. Your existing backups will stay there and the new backups will just be added.
