Hello:

I am ready to install a new NVidia Quadro K5000 for Mac in my not so old Mac Pro 4,1 (2009). I already installed Mountain Lion (10.8.3) as required. The problem is that the Mac Pro came with a Led Cinema Display which apparently only can be connected with a mini DisplayPort plug and the graphics card only have DVi and DP 1.2. I tried to find an adapter but the ones I have find are minidp male to DVI female and obviously I need a minidp female to DVI or DP female.

I will appreciate any help.

look in the box, mine came with the exact adapter you ask about

if your display is actually tb, you are out of luck

That's the problem and perhaps the solution! The box contains what the PC version has and the part num is VCQK5000-T. Shoud not it be something like VCQK5000MAC ? I believe they gave us a card for PC instead of a card for MAC, I will return it. Thanks!

Solved!

We returned the card (it was a PC card) and two weeks later they gave us the right mac graphics card with the right corresponding things in the box.

Thanks for your hints!
